The Magi

Dec 18th, 2011 | By | Category: Bible Prophecy
At a recent church service I attended, the Pastor delivered the very first message on the end times in his career as the Pastor of this large church of about 10 years old. Eagerly I attended since I have been warning people about the end times for 30 years. He preached a very interesting message. Afterwards, I wanted to commend him, but refrained. I wanted to thank him for addressing the critical topic but he likes to meet new people at the guest reception, not old timers so I honored his preference and stayed away.

What did he say? Well, he said that he did not believe a PreTribulation rapture was Biblical. Praise God. I’ll address that one in an upcoming post. However, he told the church that prophecy scholars perhaps spend too much time studying charts instead of preaching the gospel. Well, he has an evangelistic call on his life. He was an Evangelist before he became a Pastor. I have a prophetic call. We all need to work together as the body of Christ “giving preference to one another in honor” ( Romans 12:10).

Now, when I went home and went into my prayer closet I asked the Holy Spirit about the charts comment. He whispered to me that if the Magi had not studied the stars they would not have known the Messiah was going to be born. They would not have set out years before his birth and travel to greet him as a babe. I’m not anywhere near an astronomer, but I think they study charts. I do not think we should criticize those of us who are called to study the signs – we are the ones God is using to help the church prepare. Yes, everyone who knows me well knows I have used Bible prophecy to lead people to Jesus for 30 years. I have found no more compelling reason for people to get to know Jesus as their personal savior than prophecy. People marvel at it; Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy Rev. 19:10 says. Jesus is who we want people to meet. He is the Spirit of Prophecy! God has allowed me to lead untold numbers of people to Jesus the last 30 years, some, Church leaders today.

Finally, prophecy compels people to face the reality that they may not have an entire life time to think about whether or not they want to spend eternity in Hell or Heaven – they are confronted with the facts that force them to decide: am I ready to be a martyr and will He come in my lifetime and am I ready? I love the Pastor and he has had great words he has prophesied over my life. Let’s all just hold fast to the truth, that was once for all delivered to the saints (Jude 1:3) and let’s use prophecy to lead people to Jesus while there is still time to freely preach the gospel – before the World Church (Romans 15:20-22), the false Prophet prohibits us and targets Christians as the enemies of their New Age Messiah and their One World political system described in Revelation 12-13.I thank God the Pastor addressed the topic.God bless and protect us all in these last and dangerous days to “earnestly contend for the faith.”  John 8:32 says, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” The truth about Bible prophecy and its fulfillment in our day will set people free to come to Jesus.

I totally agree with you. Thank you for standing firm on your belief. I feel the Lord is coming very soon also and we as believers must stand firm and I ask that God protect us in these last days.

I do share your sentiments on prophecy because prophecy is what makes the Bible truth in it’s fulfilment . What I do not agree with is that the Magi greeted Jesus “as a babe”. This false assumption has been plaguing the ecclesia for centuries. When the Magi visited, the boy Jesus was about 2 years old( Herod killing all male children under 2 years of age)
