How to Invest In U.S. Silver Eagles
Dec 5th, 2011 | By Anne Trimble | Category: Precious Metals, SilverWhile Washington won the approval of the public with scare tactics and bought votes with promises of new benefits, politicians have pushed national debt to levels that are already unsustainable. The only practical way to survive the coming economic collapse is to invest in precious metals. Silver is a great investment because its price is being artificially suppressed. Since silver is primarily used for industrial purposes, it will be much more valuable in years to come.
U.S. Silver Eagles are an ideal investment tool to help secure your financial future.
What Are U.S. Silver Eagle coins?
The U.S. Silver Eagle has become the investment of choice. First minted in 1986, more than 130 million silver coins have been sold throughout the world. U.S. Silver Dollar Eagles are the most abundant coins ever issued by the United States Mint.
Weight, content and purity of these silver coins are guaranteed by the government of the United States. By law, each coin has a full troy ounce of pure silver. This makes each coin easy to sell anywhere in the world.
The U.S. Silver Eagle is sold as 1 oz.
How U.S. Silver Eagles Are Packaged and Sold
When you buy a lot of Silver Eagles in bulk, they are usually packaged in what is called a “Green Monster Box.” Each box has 500 Silver Eagles.
Eagles contain one ounce of pure silver, whose purity is .999. The 20 coin tubes contain 20 ounces of silver. The Green Monster Box holds a total of 500 coins or 500 ounces of silver.
Boxes that come directly from the U.S. Mint are sealed with a strap. A control label indicates year of mintage. The U.S. Mint Seal is on the outside of the box. Sealed Silver Eagle Green Monster Boxes are classified as uncirculated since they have not been handled after they left the Mint.

Anne, thank you for not hiding your lamp under a shade. I am trying to do a rollover to metals from my company’s 401k. I am 54, and don’t have that much saved; although I know I must do something soon.
